France Believes There Is No Background for First "Mistral" Delivery to Russia Now

The French authorities consider the conditions for the delivery of the first assault landing ship "Mistral" to Russia to be inappropriate.

Reuters published the Elysee Palace statement, Censor.NET reports.

"The president came to the conclusion that despite the prospect of a cease-fire, which has yet to be confirmed and come into force, the conditions for the delivery of the first helicopter carrier are not suitable now," the statement says.

According to Francois Hollande administration, the situation in Ukraine is still complicated and the actions taken recently by Russia in eastern Ukraine violate the principles of security in Europe."

France planned to pass the first Mistral to Russia in October 2014.
