Intelligence Confirms Russian Military Buildup in Donbas and Along Ukrainian Border - Ministry of Defense

Russia increased the number of troops in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions as well as along the border with Ukraine.

Deputy Minister of Defense, Office of the Secretary of Defense Head Petro Mekhed announced, Censor.NET informs citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"Our intelligence confirms the information about the Russian troops (buildup - Ed.) on the territory of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as on the border with Ukraine," Mekhed said to journalists in Kyiv on Wednesday.

According to him, analysis of the actions of the Russian Federation and preparation of appropriate solutions is being carried out. In particular, the NSDC's yesterday meeting was dedicated to this event, and instructions on strengthening of security measures on the part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and other security agencies will be submitted at the government meeting today.

Petro Mekhed also noted that the Minsk agreements are not fulfilled - the shelling of the Ukrainian army positions continues every day.
