Ukraine, Israel sign free trade agreement. VIDEO

Ukraine and Israel government representatives have signed a free trade agreement between the two countries on Monday.

Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The agreement was signed between Ukraine First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv and Israel Minister of Economy and Industry Eli Cohen.

Kubiv explained the benefits of the agreement to Ukrainian export: "Import tax on almost 80 percent of Ukrainian manufactured goods will be cancelled; new opportunities for industrial production modernization will appear; import tax on nearly 70 percent of Israeli manufactured goods will encourage investments into Ukrainian economy."

As reported earlier, President Poroshenko was on a visit to Israel on Jan. 20-21.
