The amount of pledge is UAH 2.5 mln (approx. $91.3 thousand). The suspect’s lawyer Dmytro Ilchenko said that he did not have that kind of money and that they "would have to borrow it."

Manher is now arrested until March 3.

Prosecutors requested the arrest until March 3 without the right of pledge, as Manher allegedly owns a house in Vienna where he could flee. The prosecutor Viktoria Kalyta explained, the term of the pre-trial investigation was extended precisely to this date.

Lawyers for head of the Kherson Regional Council Manher denied the risks of flight or interference with the investigation. They assured that Manher’s personal commitments would be enough.

As reported, Viktor Handziuk, the father of the murdered activist Kateryna Handziuk, accused head of the Kherson Regional Council Vladyslav Manher and head of the Kherson Regional State Administration Andrii Hordieiev in close cooperation with the criminal authority Moskal, who is suspected of organizing the murder.

Kherson City Council executive officer, Kateryna Handziuk, who tried to deal with local separatists and harshly criticized the authorities, namely the law enforcement officials, was doused with acid in Kherson early on July 31.

Aug. 2, she was urgently taken from Kherson to Kyiv by an air ambulance.

Aug. 3, the police detained a person suspected of perpetrating attack on the activist.

Nov. 4, Handziuk reportedly died of a blood clot in a Kyiv-based hospital after long treatment.
