Terrorists Entrench Near Novoazovsk and Continue Shelling Donetsk Airport

Terrorists of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics continue firing at the positions of the Ukrainian army on Tuesday. There are also reports of the militants setting up fortifications in the direction of Mariupol near Novoazovsk.


This is reported by Censor.NET citing to the ATO press center and the Facebook page of head of InfoResist Dmytro Tymchuk.

"The enemy is setting up fortifications in the vicinity of Novoazovsk, protected by air defense. The formation of the second battalion tactical group (BTG) has been completed in Mariupol direction north of Kominternove. The main forces of the enemy are in the depth of combat formations, with small mobile groups, mainly consisting of local militants, in the front," Tymchuk wrote.

Starting 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, after a short period of inactivity the militants resumed shelling of the Ukrainian positions in the Donetsk airport, the ATO press center reports.

"The night was calm around the Donetsk airport, but at 6:00 in the morning the militants began firing at our positions using small arms and rocket-propelled grenades," the statement read.

According to the ATO press secretary Volodymyr Selezniov, the terrorists opened fire at the Ukrainian positions 17 times with two military clashes taking place.

A short fight occurred near Berezove village. Three Ukrainian soldiers were killed and two were injured. Despite the superior number of the terrorist forces, the Ukrainian military managed to neutralize at least 9 militants.

In general, according to Tymchuk, the Russian-terrorist troops fired at the ATO forces over 30 times in the past 24 hours.

In particular, the most tense situation in the ATO area remains near Debaltseve (6 attacks), Krymske (4 ), Zolote (3), Berezove (3), Chornukhyne (2), Donetsk airport (2), Stanytsia Luhanska (2)," Tymchuk stated.
