Ukraine’s unilateral decision to reduce gas prices is fraught with a loss of support from international partners, including financial ones. This was announced by the premier at a selector meeting on the provision of the population with centralized heating, Censor.NET reports citing Gordon.ua.
"This (gas price cut - Ed.) can only be done when there is a consolidated agreement with all our international partners. Ukraine cannot do this unilaterally," - the premier noted.
Hroisman warned that attempts to reduce gas prices without coordination with Ukraine’s partners could lead to dire consequences.
"If someone says that we will do it unilaterally, you should know: the next day the whole civilized world will abandon us as partners - and the country will face a deep economic crisis... We cannot allow this, and therefore we were forced to take unpopular and even unacceptable steps, we had no other option," - the prime minister explained.
