Poroshenko: US Ambassador Yovanovitch has my full support

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko declares that he appreciates ​​existing relations with the United States and fully supports the activities of the US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch.

"Ukraine highly appreciates the strategic partnership with the United States of America based on clear bipartisan support. Our relations with Washington have never been as effective and substantive as they are today. And, as head of state, I personally put considerable effort on this and greatly appreciate this important asset of our international policy", - Poroshenko said, speaking at the celebrations on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the creation of the SBU.

"And in this context, I would like to note the important role of the United States Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch in promoting Ukrainian-American relations. I emphasize: she, as the representative of the United States as a state, and the President of the United States, Donald Trump, is Ukraine’s great friend and my friend, and she has my full support," he added.

Prosecutor General Lutsenko in an interview with Hill.TV said that during the first meeting after being appointed to this position with US Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch gave him a list of people whom she had asked not to prosecute. In addition, Lutsenko complained that his department did not receive $4 million, which the US should have provided as support.
