Ukrainian military to receive higher wages next year, - Poroshenko
Ukraine's 2016 state budget provides for a raise in salaries of the military, including contract soldiers.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Zaporizhia during his working visit, Censor.NET reports citing Liga.
"No matter how difficult, we will spend enough money on our army in order no to feed someone else's," Poroshenko said.
He also stated that until the end of 2015, nearly 8,500 pieces of weapons and military equipment are planned to be acquired for the army.
"More than 1,500 of new and upgraded models of weapons have already been purchased and sent to the front. In particular, the thermal and optical sights, night vision tools, armored vehicles, engineering equipment, radars, counter-battery stations, electronic warfare, upgraded aircraft," the head of state stressed.
According to Poroshenko, five times more funds have been allocated this year compared to 2014 for buying military outfit and accessories.
