"What were the key objectives the government was charging itself with in the last twelve months? The first and foremost task was the financial and economic stabilization. The country was heavily in debt. The country got no funds on its treasury account. There was nothing to pay salaries and pensions with. The budget was completely out of balance. Therefore, the first and foremost task was the social and economic stabilization.

"Second, it was the issue of the national security and defense. We started creating the Ukrainian Army from scratch. Consequently, it was necessary to both implement the national security and defense reforms and, first of all, fight against Russian military aggression on the eastern front. And the third package was a set of complex, step-by-step but proper reforms in all sectors of the economy including social one, as well as the security and economic sectors, deregulation issues, state property management, development of new institutions fighting against corruption," Yatseniuk said.
