People's Front will vote for bill allowing Lutsenko to become prosecutor general, - faction's chair Burbak

People's Front faction is set to vote for the bill No. 4645 that makes it unnecessary for a person to have law degree to be appointed prosecutor general and changes the order of conviction in absentia.

"If this bill is put on today's agenda, we will support it. At its yesterday's meeting, the relevant parliamentary committee considered the bill, which had been introduced by People's Front and PPB, and approved it on the whole," Burbak told reporters on Thursday morning on the sidelines of the the Verkhovna Rada, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

The MP noted he went through the text of the document as early as on Wednesday, "but I deem it irresponsible trying to find reasons for not voting."

"We are seeking to ensure that the candidacy of prosecutor general is submitted by the president as soon as possible... This issue must be urgently tackled. In the situation when the country is in a state of war in the east, when the country is fighting corruption, the absence of prosecutor general for more than three months is unacceptable," Burbak said.
