President Petro Poroshenko has greeted Ukraine's volunteers on the occasion of International Volunteer Day.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the head of state's press service.

"On Dec. 5, the entire world is celebrating International Volunteer Day. I am very please to greet those who follow their hearts in helping others. For several years now, volunteers have been inspiring and encouraging positive changes in the society. It was the Revolution of Dignity and the Russian aggression, when the volunteer movement in Ukraine was born and received new forms of existence. Thanks to you, defenders of territorial integrity and independence of our state feel they are taken care of," the president's greeting reads.

Poroshenko stressed that "our volunteers react to social and individual challenges daily, and are always ready to support those who need help."
