Court imposes two-month pretrial detention on Zaporizhia prosecutor suspected of drug distribution

The Pechersk district court of Kyiv ruled to place recently apprehended Zaporizhia prosecutor in detention for a 60-day term with the right to post 800,000 hryvnia (about $28,600) in bail. The mentioned member of Zaporizhia Prosecutor’s Office was nabbed on suspicion of drug distribution and consumption encouraging yesterday, Jan. 19.

Head of Procedural Supervision Directorate of the Major Fraud Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine Olha Varchenko told Censor.NET that t he prosecutor was placed in detention until March 18, 2017.

Yesterday, Jan. 19, the member of Zaporizhia Prosecutor's Office in charge of public prosecution in proceedings related to drug trafficking was detained on suspicion of drug distribution and consumption encouraging.

As it turned out, the prosecutor snorted amphetamines making lines on the folders with the collected investigation records.
