Poroshenko awards 94 ATO fighters, 34 of them posthumously

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has rewarded 94 Ukrainian military, including 34 posthumously, for personal bravery and selfless military service.

Censor.NET reports citing Poroshenko's Facebook page.

"I've rewarded 94 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine - anti-terrorist operation (ATO) heroes, 34 of them posthumously, for personal courage and selfless performance of military duty," he wrote.

Poroshenko noted that Junior Lieutenant Yurii Hurtiak performed combat missions near the villages of Novhorodske, Taramchuk and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region: "He heroically saved the lives of the personnel of the main group under his command, for which he has been awarded an Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky 1st Class."

"An Order for Courage 2nd Class has been awarded to Oleh Posokhov, a sniper of the 93d Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade of the Pivden Operations Command of Ukraine's Ground Forces. The senior soldier heroically defended the homeland in the battles for the village of Pisky and the international Donetsk airport," the president added.
