Volunteer Yuliia Tolmachova, wounded near Zaitseve, to undergo surgery in Dnipro City today, - local authorities

A surgery on activist Yuliia Tolmachova, who was wounded in the vicinity of Zaitseve village in the Donetsk region on March 8, is scheduled to be carried out at the Mechnykova hospital in Dnipro City today. The volunteer needs to have a shrapnel pulled out of her head.

As reported by Censor.NET, adviser to the chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Tetiana Huba told 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"Serhii [another volunteer wounded together with Tolmachova - ed.] was badly wounded to the arm. Yulia is in better condition: she has a non-penetrating wound to her head, but there are still fragments that need to be removed. A surgery is scheduled for today. It will be held in the Mechnykova hospital," Huba said.

As reported, Ukrainian volunteers were attacked by members of the illegal armed group on the outskirts of Zaitseve village in the Donetsk region on March 8. Members of the Volunteer Battalion Charitable Foundation Yuliia Tolmachova and Serhii Adamiak were wounded in the attack. The activists were taken to the Bakhmut central district hospital within an hour and were operated on by the military doctors.
