President Poroshenko and his wife honored memory of Holodomor victims. PHOTOS

President Petro Poroshenko and his wife Maryna Poroshenko honored the memory of Holodomor victims.

The President and his wife laid compositions of ears and arrowwood mixed with mourning colors to the Memorial to Holodomor victims on Mykhailivska Square in Kyiv. They honored memory of everyone who died in one of the most dreadful period in the history of the Ukrainian people with a moment of silence and a low bow.

Petro Poroshenko and Maryna Poroshenko also placed icon lamps in front of the Memorial.

"Today we traditionally light candles in memory of Holodomor victims. We pray for the many millions of killed Ukrainians. The bright souls of innocent victims are still among us. Holodomor is nothing but the manifestation of a centuries-old hybrid war that Russia is waging against Ukraine," Poroshenko wrote on Facebook
